At DUNN, our work spans a wide range of complex façade, cladding and building envelope projects across the UK.
We are frequently instructed on sensitive, high-value matters where discretion is essential. For that reason, the examples below focus on how we work, the challenges we are trusted to resolve, and the value we deliver — rather than confidential project detail.
Each project demonstrates our technical expertise, collaborative approach, and commitment to clear, defensible outcomes for our clients.
DUNN were appointed to assess the condition and compliance of fire doors throughout the building, ensuring alignment with current fire safety standards and best practice.
Our works included a comprehensive inspection of all existing fire doors, identifying areas of non-compliance and advising on appropriate remedial action. Where feasible, doors were upgraded through targeted remediation works, including the replacement of seals, ironmongery and door closures. In instances where repair was not viable, new certified fire doors were installed.
All works were completed with full certification, providing assurance that the fire door installations met current regulatory requirements and delivered the necessary level of fire protection.
DUNN were engaged to deliver insulation and protective works within the car park area, with a focus on thermal performance, fire safety and long-term durability.
The scope of works included the installation of thermal insulation to the car park ceiling, improving performance while ensuring compatibility with the existing structure. In addition, protective steel encasements were installed to critical load-bearing columns and beams, providing enhanced fire protection and resilience.
All works were carried out in accordance with relevant building regulations and fire safety requirements, ensuring the completed installation met current standards and delivered a robust, compliant solution.
DUNN were appointed to undertake cavity barrier replacement works to address fire safety and compliance within the building envelope.
The project involved the careful removal of existing non-compliant cavity barriers, followed by the installation of new fire-rated barriers within external wall cavities. These were installed above compartment walls and around openings such as doors and windows, ensuring continuity of fire separation throughout the structure.
All affected areas were fully made good on completion, maintaining the building’s appearance, weather resistance and overall integrity, while delivering a compliant and effective fire-stopping solution.
DUNN were commissioned to carry out a full assessment of fire doors throughout the building, with the objective of confirming compliance and improving overall fire safety performance.
A detailed survey was undertaken to evaluate the condition and functionality of each fire door. Where deficiencies were identified, targeted remediation works were completed, including adjustments and replacement of seals, ironmongery and door closures. Doors that could not be economically or safely repaired were replaced with new, certified fire door sets.
Upon completion, all fire doors were certified in line with current standards, providing the client with clear assurance of compliance and a documented record of works carried out.
DUNN were instructed to undertake cavity barrier replacement works as part of a wider fire safety compliance programme within the building.
The project involved the removal of existing cavity barriers that no longer met current requirements, followed by the installation of new fire-rated barriers within external wall cavities. Particular attention was given to maintaining effective fire separation above compartment walls and around structural openings, including doors and windows.
All works were completed with full making good to affected areas, ensuring the building’s appearance, weatherproofing and fabric were preserved while delivering a compliant and robust fire-stopping solution.
